Schneider Electric Software veteran Scot Larsen named Chief Technical Officer, with SecureAuth’s Gene Kim appointed Chief Financial Officer

MISSION VIEJO, Calif., November 30, 2017—Ease, Inc. is expanding its executive team with the addition of Scot Larsen, CTO, and Gene Kim, CFO, as the Beacon audit platform continues gaining momentum in the market.

Kim’s work spans over ten years working with Bay Area companies that include small private startups, public tech companies and Big Four accounting. Larsen brings decades of management and R&D leadership experience to the team, with a strong track record of building market-leading software products.

“Not only is Scot a heavy hitter in terms of product development and strategy, his manufacturing background means he really gets our users,” says Eric Stoop, Chief Executive Officer. “Gene is a dynamic tech leader as well, and his history of driving organizational growth is a key reason why we brought him on board.”

Larsen joins Ease from Schneider Electric Software, where as Senior Director of R&D he helped make the Wonderware System Platform the number one HMI/SCADA product on the market. He was also responsible for cloud-based engineering tools for the company’s biggest control system platform. Prior to that, he led product development for Sage’s leading mid-tier ERP/accounting platform as Senior Director of R&D.

“I spent the first 12 years of my career as a manufacturing control systems engineer, so I’ve seen firsthand the challenges manufacturers are dealing with,” says Larsen, adding that it’s one reason why he chose to work with Ease. “My focus will be maximizing value creation through lean product development and growing the R&D team, since those are areas where I have a lot to contribute.”

Like Larsen, Kim has strong tech industry experience and a record of helping companies grow faster. As Vice President of Finance & Accounting at network security startup SecureAuth, he helped drive a 40% year-over-year growth rate and ultimately the company’s successful acquisition. His background also includes work at public software company Riverbed Technology and accounting giant Ernst & Young.
